Compulsory Verification of Existence of All Veterans of the National Liberation Struggle Residing Outside Namibia

SUBJECT: COMPULSORY VERIFICATION OF EXISTENCE OF ALL VETERANS OF THE NATIONAL LIBERATION STRUGGLE RESIDING OUTSIDE NAMIBIA

1.This serves to inform that the office of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs is in the process of verifying the
existence of all veterans regardless whether or not they are recipients of the veteran’s monthly grant. The aim of
verifying every veteran is to ensure that accurate veteran’s information is captured on the data system.

2.The exercise will take place between 01 October 2018 to 31 March 2019 at the Veterans Affairs Head office in
Windhoek.

3.In respect of the above, all Veterans and Dependents of Veterans are kindly requested to provide the following
mandatory documents, when presenting themselves for the verification:

a) Certified Copy of the New Namibian ID
b) Certified copy of marriage certificate
c) Latest pay slip for September 2018 if employed and
d) Six months bank statement where the subvention is paid
e) Veterans who are assisted to get their grant/s must come with their nominees to sign the power of attorney

5. Dependents of Veterans
a) Certified Copy of ID of deceased veteran
b) Certified copy of death certificate
c) Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate
d) Sworn statement that not remarried (if widowed)
e) Certified Copy of the New Namibian ID or full birth certificate (if minor)
f) Latest (August 2018) for Grade 1-12 or (First semester results) for tertiary institutions dependents
g) Six months bank statement where the subvention is paid

6. Further to the above, kindly note the following:

7. Should veterans in receipt of the monthly subvention fail to report for verification during this exercise, their
monthly subvention will be suspended immediately and no back pays will be entertained.

8. Veterans/dependents in receipt of the subvention, and veterans who are not in receipt of monthly subvention
(financial assistance) and are residing outside Namibia must report themselves from October 1, 2018-March 31, 2019
to the Veterans Affairs Head Office in Windhoek.
